Our chassis types – explained!
With bases in Hull and Northampton, we design and manufacture a range of chassis for caravan holiday homes, leisure lodges, residential park homes and modular buildings.
We’re on hand as an invaluable source of support for manufacturing partners needing a little advice on the best chassis for new projects.
In addition to our main chassis types, we can develop and deliver bespoke chassis solutions if needed but to make things easier we have created a quick tour of our main range of chassis types.
Designed for caravan holiday homes, the LATTICE WELDED PAINTED CHASSIS is a traditional chassis which has been used for several years. It consists of welded sections and it is finished with a UK manufactured paint specifically produced for this sector. It is a good economical solution for lighter loaded structures in a lesser corrosive environment.
The PRE-GALVANISED LATTICE is produced from steel galvanised at source, so it has been through a process adding corrosion-resistant properties, suitable for most structures.
Designed for Park Homes, the STRONGBOX (StrongBox™) chassis is market-leading and uses box section cross members, compared to the standard c-section cross members. It is these sections that hold the structure together and result in a more comfortable and stable home for the owner. It also means that redecorating and refurbishing the home is less likely to affect its balance on the supporting structure. This is often used for multi-level and innovative high-end models.
FULLY GALVANISED LATTICE
Developed for medium to higher-end caravan holiday homes and leisure lodges, the LATTICE – SECTIONAL HOT DIP GALVANISED CHASSIS LATTICE is manufactured in sections, hot dip galvanised, riveted and bolted together using galvanised components forming a robust chassis, which has increased corrosion resistant properties, for medium to higher loaded structures.
I-BEAM THAT CAN BE PAINTED OR GALVANISED
The I-BEAM was developed to meet the demands for chassis for high-end leisure lodges and park homes. The I-Beam is structurally the strongest in terms of load-bearing capacity available in the market, with the exception of the Park Home I-Beam. A fully galvanised chassis offers high corrosion resistance while the expertise of the Gateway Chassis design engineers and research and development team has optimised the design for the ultimate longevity and strength.
PARK HOME I-BEAM -PAINTED OR GALVANISED
Designed and engineered to adapt to changes required by the home manufacturers and the National Caravan Council, the PARK HOME I-BEAM is the ultimate chassis for a traditional layout, although it can be adapted according to design. This chassis is sectional and boasts improved stiffness and strength over its predecessor.
